报告人简介:Dr. Vince Pantalone's research program emphasizes applied, field-oriented classical plant breeding, and molecular genetics research targeting the development of improved soybean cultivars and germplasm resources. Program objectives include breeding for increased yield, tolerance to plant diseases, nematodes, environmental stresses, enhanced protein concentration and amino acid quality, and high oleic, low linolenic acid for improved stability and nutrition. To date, Dr. Pantalone has developed and released four conventional cultivars, eight glyphosate herbicide resistant cultivars, and germplasm lines with high yield, disease resistance, higher protein, elevated cysteine amino acid, and low linolenic acid. Three of his current cultivars have been honored as high yield checks for the USDA Southern Uniform Testing Program, where they served as the benchmarks of success that other soybean breeders strive to match or beat.

报告人简介:Dr. Hewezi laboratory is interested in deciphering the mechanisms of action of cyst and root-knot nematode effectors and their impacts on plant growth and development, and is also interested in understanding the epigenetic regulation of plant response to biotic and abiotic stresses in Arabidopsis and soybean by combining molecular biology with cell biology, biochemistry, genetic and genomic approaches. Dr. Hewezi has published his research papers on journals such as the Plant Cell, Plant Journal and Plant Physiology.
