 Genetic regulation of plant development and architecture; plant molecular genetics and biotechnology: development and application of molecular markers in plant breeding (wheat, rye, Aegilops etc), research of genomes derived from wide hybridisation, investigation of genetic resources and biodiversity, gene mapping, constructing molecular-genetics maps of wild cereals and comparative mapping; physical mapping; in silico mapping; cereal gene cloning.

Vector construction and molecular analysis of transgenic plants. Developed new trait leads for improving stress responses and yield in cereals. Development CRISPR/Cas9- based system for genome editing in wheat.
